About…….
Acacia catechu powder is extracted from the heartwood of the Acacia Catechu tree (Khair). It is a moderate size deciduous tree with rough dark gray brown bark. It belongs to the family Leguminoseae-mimoseae. It is said that the name ‘catechu' was given to it because its bristles resemble the claws of animals of the cat family or maybe because its heart wood contains cutch. It is also called khoira, koir, kheriya baval, kher babul, kagli, cachu, kugli, kaderi and sandra in local Indian languages (Hindi, Punjabi). Khair grows naturally all over Haryana and the rest of the Indian subcontinent areas which enjoy average rainfall; it also grows throughout the whole of the Indo Gangetic plain from Assam westwards, right up to Afghanistan, and from the sea coast to the Deccan Plateau and then northwards to the lower Himalayan ranges having an altitude up to about 1250 m or so. To Use…….
Acacia catechu is used generally to add dark tones to henna. It is to be used in conjunction with henna powder to give colour tones leaning towards brown. Add half to one tablespoon acacia catechu powder to roughly 100gms of Renaissance Henna powder….follow instructions on your henna pack. Apply for normal length of time – about 2 hours minimum.

We very much regret that we do not have any worldwide store outlets at this time
and that it is not possible to collect from us in person as we are purely internet
based.
Making Payment and Using
our Payment Buttons

Although our Buy Now cart payment buttons are linked with Paypal, you can buy from
us using your credit or debit card even if you are not registered with Paypal. To
pay by card just click on the Paypal icon button once you have finished shopping
and when you enter the Paypal screen click on "do not currently have a Paypal
account" to pay by card.
New Postage Discount
We now offer a postage discount of £1.00 for every additional item you buy;
eg if you buy 2 items, you save £1.00 on postage; if you buy three items,
you save £2.00 on your total postage, and so on. Our automated buy now buttons
will automatically calculate your postage discount.
Delivery Times
Although we usually aim to post your order out within 2-3 days there are occasions
when this is just not possible, therefore please allow a max. of 7 - 10 days for
your order to be received in the UK, 14 days if you are in Europe, and 18 - 21 days
if you are outside Europe. For orders paid for by cheque, our standard policy is
to allow seven days for the cheque to clear before posting.
We use first class post for all UK deliveries. We depend on Royal Mail to deliver
to you on the next day after posting.
Royal Mail's airmail delivery aims for Europe are 3-4 working days and 5-7 working
days for the rest of the world. Delivery targets, unfortunately, are not guaranteed
by Royal Mail.
Insurance
We regret we do not offer insurance. Largely because there is very little damage
that can be done to a herbal powder well packed and sealed ! For this reason we
did not feel it was appropriate to add extra charges for insurance. The worst that
is likely to happen if your package is damaged in the post is that the outer packaging
will suffer, but the inner packaging containing the powder should remain intact
under the worst conditions. However, if you wish us to use a particular postal service
please let us know.
